Amazon would be ready to launch a free music streaming service to compete with Spotify

Next week we could see a very important day for  Amazon that, according to the rumors of the last minutes, would be ready to launch its free music streaming service on the market  , to compete definitively with Spotify, which has always offered this type of service.

The rumors speak of a music streaming service that should be available through the use of Amazon Echo , even if users could only have access to a  limited catalog  of songs and albums. To make sure that the free availability of the tracks is independent of the number of advertisements reproduced, which should still be present within the eventual free service, it seems that Amazon has decided to pay some record labels.

At the moment, Amazon is already present in the music streaming services market, but only through premium subscriptions, namely Prime Music and Music Unlimited. The two services reached  20 million subscribers during 2018, which means “well, but not very well”. Moreover, the feeling is that many users prefer not to continue to use the services of the e-commerce giant and, consequently, not to renew their subscriptions. The one just described could be the main reason that prompted Amazon to think of a free version of the music streaming service.
