Xiaomi has finally announced the long-awaited Redmi Pad tablet , which is designed to fill the sub-middle segment of the device market.
The Redmi Pad features a large 10.6-inch FHD+ LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a maximum brightness of up to 400 nits. This is a pretty nice tablet with an impressive thickness of just 7.1mm and a weight of 465 grams.
Under the hood of the Redmi Pad is an octa-core MediaTek Helio G99 chip, which is paired with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory. The tablet’s storage can be expanded using microSD cards.
In terms of photo and video capabilities, there is an 8-megapixel main camera, and for selfies and video conferencing, the user will have access to the same 8-megapixel camera located on the top bezel of the display (when the tablet is held horizontally).
According to the already established tradition, the novelty was equipped with a four-speaker audio system with Dolby Atmos support, which allows users to enjoy high-quality surround sound.
The tablet’s battery capacity is 8,000 mAh, which Xiaomi says is enough to provide more than 21 hours of video playback or 12 hours of gaming on a single charge. There is support for 18W fast charging, which is not very common among budget tablets.
Buyers can choose from three different body colors such as Graphite Grey, Moonlight Silver and Mint Green. The price of the Redmi Pad in India, where it debuted, starts at $159 for the 3GB + 64GB package and goes up to $245 for the top-end version with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
