Xiaomi, official 12T and 12T Pro: other products also presented

Yesterday was undoubtedly one of the most important of the year for Xiaomi, which presented several devices during an event held at the BMW Welt in Munich.

The protagonists are obviously the new smartphones, Xiaomi 12T and Xiaomi 12T Pro, highly anticipated by fans of the Chinese giant. However, the global presentation event represented an important showcase for other products as well, including the new Xiaomi TV Q2 Series televisions and the Vacuum X10 + robot vacuum cleaner .

Xiaomi 12T Pro

Starting from the more performing of the two smartphones, it is worth immediately highlighting the 200 MP that Xiaomi 12T Pro can have. This is the first sensor of this type for the Chinese company, built around the Samsung ISOCELL HP1 , a sensor 1 / 1.22 ″ with 0.64 µm pixels. The high resolution sensor supports 2x lossless digital zoom, can shoot 8K video and record HDR10 + footage. In addition, the sensor also has optical image stabilization (OIS) and advanced features such as autofocus with eye and motion detection.

The other two rear cameras are an 8MP ultrawide sensor and a 2MP macro camera, while in front we find a 20MP front camera and an in-display fingerprint reader.

Speaking of the display, it is a  6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1,220 x 2,712 px (20: 9, 446ppi). It can work with a 120 Hz refresh rate but can also automatically switch between 30, 60, 90 and 120 Hz modes. The display is a 12-bit panel with HDR10 + and Dolby Vision, which promises perfect color images thanks to calibration. at the factory. It has a typical brightness of 500 nits (900 nits peak) and is protected by Gorilla Glass 5.

One aspect that this phone shares with the 12S series is the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset , which will continue to offer a great balance of performance and efficiency even after the arrival of Qualcomm’s new processor, the now imminent Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Xiaomi has significantly upgraded the vapor chamber: compared to the 11T Pro, the new model has a 65% larger VC, with 125% more thermal material.

The chip is paired with 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128 GB of UFS 3.1 memory in the base version, but 8/256 GB and 12/256 GB configurations can also be achieved. The phone launches with Android 12 (MIUI 13) and can also count on a 5,000 mAh battery with 120W fast charging, which allows you to recharge the device to 100% in just 19 minutes.

Xiaomi 12T Pro will be available from 13 October through the official Xiaomi channels. The 8/128 GB model will be on sale at a price of 750 euros , while the 8 / 256GB variant will cost 800 euros ; finally, the model with 12 / 256GB will be sold for 850 euros.

Xiaomi 12T

Xiaomi 12T Pro is obviously the best performing phone, but Xiaomi 12T also shows itself as a high quality product. The phone has a 108MP ISOCELL HM6 camera , a 1 / 1.67 ″ sensor with pixels of the same size, 0.64 µm. Here too we find optical stabilization (OIS), even if the possibility of recording 8K videos is absent and there are no more advanced features such as AF eye tracking.

The remaining cameras are the same as the Xiaomi 12T Pro, namely the 8MP ultra wide-angle and the 2MP macro, as well as the 20MP selfie camera. Same goes for the 6.67-inch AMOLED 20: 9 display with 1220p + resolution, a 12-bit panel with HDR10 + (no Dolby Vision, however), refresh rate of 30/60/90/120 Hz and sample rate of the touch of 480 Hz.

The processor that powers the Xiaomi 12T is the Dimensity 8100-Ultra , which can be paired with 8 / 128GB or 8 / 256GB of memory (LPDDR5 and UFS 3.1, no 12GB RAM option). The device works with Android 12 as an operating system, with MIUI 13 customization.

Also from the standpoint of autonomy, the 12T is like its “big brother”: the 120 W charger allows you to recharge the battery to 100% in just 19 minutes. On October 13, Xiaomi will also launch this phone for the price of 600 euros for the 8/128 GB unit. The 8/256 GB option costs 650 euros instead.

Finally, the Vacuum X10 + is a robot vacuum cleaner that performs a series of very useful operations, including emptying the garbage into the appropriate container, filling the water tank and automatically drying the cloth in order to avoid humidity and bad smells. The robot is sold at a price of 899.99 euros from 10 October.
