Windows 11: Microsoft releases new features and improvements for version 22H2 in Release Preview

Microsoft released Windows 11 Build 22621.608 on Tuesday (04) to Insider members enrolled in the Release Preview channel. This is the first update that will bring new features to the operating system after the release of its version 22H2 , which fixed the lack of customization in the Start menu and brought improvements in DirectX.

Identified as “KB5017389”, the update package should bring a “Suggested Actions” feature . For example, when pressing “Ctrl” and “C” on a selected phone number, Windows will suggest making a voice call in Teams or Skype . When copying a date, the system would suggest scheduling an event in the Calendar.

Big tech is also adding a new menu to the taskbar to organize all running apps when there is no more space in the area. In addition, there will be new sharing possibilities using Proximity Sharing.

The update should finally bring tab organization in File Explorer . The manager homepage will also allow the user to pin frequently used files to ensure quick access to apps, documents and more, as well as tighter integration with documents stored in Microsoft OneDrive .

Given that Build 22621.608 is already available on the Release Preview channel, it shouldn’t be long before it is released for all Windows 11 users. In parallel, the company is testing builds 22621.730 and 22623.730 with improvements for 2-in-1 notebooks .
