Vivo X Fold+. Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 foldable dual-display smartphone with 80W fast charging goes on sale

This week, Vivo officially announced a fresh addition to its range of devices with the new Vivo X Fold+ smartphone . And so, as is usually the case, a few days later the company’s new foldable phone went on sale. But so far only at home.

The Vivo X Fold+ with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage is priced at $1,388, while the smartphone with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage can be bought in China for $1,527.

 

For this money, they offer a smartphone equipped with an 8.03-inch flexible folding display in half with an AMOLED LTPO panel with a resolution of 1960 x 2160 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. On the front of the foldable phone is a second, 6.53-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2520 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz. Under each display is an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

The Vivo X Fold+ is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor. It is paired with LPDDR5 RAM and high-speed UFS 3.1 storage. The smartphone was equipped with a 4730 mAh battery with wired charging up to 80 watts. The X Fold+ also supports 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.

 

The smartphone has a 16-megapixel front camera. On the rear panel is a 50-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization and autofocus. Its second and third sensors have a resolution of 48 and 12 megapixels. The latter was equipped with a telephoto lens. The novelty works under the control of the Android 12 operating system with the OriginOS shell.

 

The phone is available in three colors: black, blue and red. Customers who purchase the X Fold+ by October 7 will receive a free 50W wireless charger and protective case. It is not yet known if the company has any plans to release the X Fold+ outside of China.
