In November 2020, Twitter was already trying to introduce a new video content format. They became Fleets – online video stories. After eight months of work, the service was closed due to low popularity. Now the company has again decided to experiment with video, but now we are talking about videos in user publications.
The innovation consists in full-screen viewing of vertical video: if you click on the video in the post, it will expand to full screen. While watching, you can scroll through the video (like in TikTok), and the social network will show other similar videos. Clicking the back button will take the user back to the original post. A video carousel will also appear on the home screen in the “Videos for you” section.
