Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra surpasses iPhone 14 Pro Max in speed

The authors of the YouTube channel PhoneBuff published a video in which they compared the speed of two flagships – Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The test was carried out using a mechanical manipulator to eliminate the human factor.

During a comparative experiment, various applications and games were simultaneously launched on both smartphones, first in one and then in reverse order. Galaxy S23 Ultra took the lead in the first lap, finishing in 1 minute 54 seconds. He was ahead of the iPhone by only a second, but thereby interrupted Apple’s championship in this discipline – the gadgets of the American brand held the lead in it for almost three and a half years.

Thanks to the special version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip and the updated One UI shell, the Android smartphone was faster in photo and video editors, and was also the first to download a text file and the Disney + application. In turn, the iPhone 14 Pro Max took the lead when launching games and some applications (Spotify and Google Trends).

In the second round of tests, the flagships showed almost the same speed. However, in games, the iPhone 14 Pro Max still performed better, because on the Galaxy S23 Ultra, to fold them, you had to make two swipes against one on the Apple gadget. This difference allowed him to bypass the competitor, albeit with a minimal margin.
