Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra welcomes a new beta: One UI 4.1.1 or 5.0?

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is preparing to welcome the news of Android 12L and One UI 4.1.1 , still in the works pending the launch of Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Flip4 , or those of One UI 5.0 based on Android 13 ? From the United Kingdom there are reports of new beta firmware for the 2021 flagship of the South Korean manufacturer, but it is not entirely clear which version it is.

New beta phase for Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra: Android 12L or Android 13?

It looks like Samsung is starting a new test program for the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra (and perhaps the rest of the range, complemented by the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 + ). Unfortunately, it is not clear if it can already be a first internal test of Android 13 and One UI 5.0, as we saw a few weeks ago for Galaxy S22 , or if the manufacturer is working “under the track” on the One UI 4.1.1 based on Android 12L to be released after the arrival of the new leaflets ( the presentation is officially set for August 10 , by the way).

The firmware in question is the G998BXXU5DVGA and does not appear to be publicly available in the UK yet. As the most attentive will know, Samsung usually changes the letter after the number with the “important” updates (in this case we go from “C” to “D”), but this may not necessarily lead to One UI 5.0 and to Android 13. Samsung could in fact consider a “major release” as well as a transition to Android 12L, even if theoretically the novelties of this version would be mostly intended for folding devices or devices with very large screens.

We know that One UI 4.1.1 exists and that it will almost certainly be available at the launch of Galaxy Z Fold4 and Z Flip4, but there are still no certainties about its arrival on board other devices and its timing. Considering the release of Android 13 by Google, scheduled for late summer or early autumn, it cannot be ruled out that many models can jump directly to One UI 5.0.

Keep following us because we will definitely be back on the subject in the coming weeks. Do you think the above firmware will be based on Android 12L or Android 13?
