Motorola is developing its first rollable smartphone

Motorola entered the folding segment in 2022 with the launch of the Motorola Razr . The company continued with the Razr 5G, which brought improved cameras and a more rugged interior. Now while the next-generation Razr is already in the works and will arrive soon, the Lenovo-owned company is now looking to dive into completely new territory: rollable phones .

According to Evan Blass , Motorola is developing its first rollable phone, internally known as Felix. Motorola’s vision for rollable phones appears to be different from that of OPPO and TCL, which have already unveiled their first concept phones. Both  OPPO X 2021  and  TCL Fold n ‘Roll  use a flexible display that expands horizontally to transform a full-sized plate phone into a large tablet.

According to the report, Motorola’s rollable Felix expands vertically to make the device taller (rather than wider). One third of the phone’s display is hidden at the bottom and can be fully extended on demand to increase the actual screen space.
