Unlocking the bootloader on your Lenovo Legion Y700 (2023) can give you more control over your device, allowing you to install custom ROMs or root your tablet.
Note: This method does not work on firmware 15.0.761 or 15.0.795. For these versions, other methods are required.

Step-by-Step Guide
- Enable Developer Mode
- Go to Settings > About Tablet, and tap Software Version 10 times until Developer Mode is activated.
- Access Developer Options
- Go back to Settings > General Settings, then open Developer Options.
- Enable OEM Unlocking and USB Debugging
- Toggle on OEM Unlocking and USB Debugging.
- Connect the tablet to your PC using a USB cable (plug into the long side port).
- Authorize USB debugging on your PC when prompted.
- Download Platform-Tools and USB Driver
- If it’s your first time working with a bootloader, download and install platform-tools and the USB driver for your PC. Unpack them into a folder on your PC for easy access.
- Open Command Prompt in Platform-Tools Folder
- Navigate to the folder where you unpacked platform-tools.
- In the folder address bar, type CMD and press Enter to open a command prompt window.
- Boot into the Bootloader
- Once connected via USB, type the following command in the command prompt to boot into the bootloader.
adb reboot bootloader
Troubleshooting: PC Not Detecting Device in Fastboot?
If your PC doesn’t recognize the tablet in fastboot mode, make sure all necessary drivers are installed, and try a different USB port or cable.
- Unlock the Bootloader
- In the command prompt, type
fastboot flashing unlock
- Confirm Bootloader Unlock on Tablet
- Use the volume rockers to select Unlock Bootloader, then confirm the selection with the power button. The tablet will reset and boot into the system.
