Galaxy S23s are the first to receive the March 2023 Android security update

Samsung has always been exemplary in terms of software monitoring on the latest high-end smartphones, and the giant has just proven it again by being the first to deploy a new Android patch on its recent Galaxy S23 . These have just received the March 2023 security patch, the latest to date.

The update weighs 351.91 MB , and carries the version numbers S918BXXSAWBM, S918BOXM1AWBN and S918BXXU1AWBD. At the writing, we received it on one of our Galaxy S23 Ultra, but not on the other. It is therefore still being deployed, and it may be necessary to wait a few more hours before receiving it on your smartphone.

SAMSUNG FIXES BUGS WITH ITS NEW UPDATE

Along with bringing the March 2023 security patch to its Galaxy S23s, the update also suggests that some bugs may have been fixed as well. Many Internet users had, for example, alerted to a connection problem on their Galaxy S23 , which prevented smartphones from maintaining a stable connection to a Wi-Fi network.

This is a problem that we had also noticed on one of our Galaxy S23 Ultra, since it sometimes happens that the smartphone is well connected, but that it is noted “no Internet access” in the settings. For now, it’s still too early to tell if this update has fixed the bug, but Samsung had already announced that it was aware of the problem and was currently working to fix it.

To install the update, simply go to the settings, then at the bottom in “Software update “. Then press “Download and Install”, and your smartphone should automatically offer you the new version. Once downloaded, you will be prompted to click “Install Now”. Note that unlike its competitors, Samsung still does not offer rapid Android updates , which means that your smartphone will be forced to restart to install the new version.
