Samsung has been prioritizing high-end devices when it comes to security patch updates. However, the company has now started investing in the low-end market, as is the case with the update that will target the Galaxy A02 in many regions.
The first variant of the Galaxy A02 to receive the October 2022 security update is the SM-A022M model . In the case of the international version (SM-A022F), the novelty should arrive soon.
The new firmware version A022MXXS3BVI1 is available for Galaxy A02 in countries such as Argentina, Paraguay, Brazil, Uruguay, Peru, Chile, Panama, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Guatemala and Colombia.
Samsung has revealed the October 2022 security patch changelog, which addresses 32 issues found in Google ‘s Android OS and fixes 18 security flaws in Samsung’s software. It is important to note that some of the aforementioned vulnerabilities are limited to certain devices or hardware configurations and therefore do not affect the Galaxy A02.
This is the case for security flaws for the Snapdragon 855+ and Snapdragon 865 chipsets, which do not make up the device, which is powered by the MediaTek MT6739W SoC.
