However, to enable 5G connectivity, smartphone makers must roll out firmware updates for eligible devices.

A few weeks ago, Apple India confirmed that eligible iPhones will get a firmware update in December that will enable 5G connectivity.

There will be 13 iPhone models in India supporting 5G connectivity.

A new report from India’s Economic Times shows that Apple plans to roll out a firmware update next week that will enable 5G connectivity on eligible iPhone models.

The update will be rolling out as part of the iOS 16 Beta program, so it will only be available to users running the new iOS 16.2 Beta on their iPhones .

The report also revealed that Apple executives will soon meet with members of India’s Ministry of Telecommunications and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) to inform the launch of the iOS 16 public beta firmware.

Apple will roll out support for Airtel 5G Plus and Jio True 5G in the upcoming iOS 16 beta public beta update.
